The valleys surrounding Sapa are home to several of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups, each with their own distinctive dress, customs and dialects which can all be seen at the weekend markets in Sapa area. Can Cau Market is a small, but very colourful market, set in the mountains near the Chinese border. Almost every Saturday around 8 different minorities are represented at the market. Bac Ha market with all it's colourful ethnic people as Flower Hmong, Phu La and Dao Tuyen who gathers to buy, to sell or just to exchange culture and meet each other will be the next destination.
There are some interesting Hill Tribe markets in Lao Cai province which are open on the distinct days of the weeks such as Bac Ha Sunday Market, Cao Son Wednesday Market,…If you travel to Vietnam not on the days to join these markets, you can join Coc Ly Market which is held on every Tuesday. Taking this trip, you can discover Sapa and the hill tribe villages surrounding plus this colorful Wednesday Market of Coc Ly.
Joing this tour, you will visit Sapa town, trekking to scenic rice terraces, stream, H'mong and Dzay Hill tribe people in Lao Chai and Ta Van Villages then more trek to Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dzao tribe where you will see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Homestay overnight. The next day you will drive about 90 km from Sapa to discover Bac Ha Sunday Market with colorful hill tribe people.
